• Honda and LG will jointly invest $4.4 billion to build a new battery plant in the US as Washington strives to eliminate China from supply chains for electric vehicles. The construction will begin early next year, and the mass production of lithium-ion battery cells is expected by the end of 2025. It will be the first EV battery plant in the US for Honda, which has pledged to end fossil-fueled vehicles by 2040.
